“Quarantine Diary 08.04. - 05-05.20“

@noceur_diary is a digital visual chronicle documenting the experience of the COVID-19 quarantine, shared on Instagram from April 8 to May 5, 2020. This collaborative endeavor, known as the Quarantine Diary, emerged from the collective efforts of Gosia Jagiello, Kozue Kawamura (florist), and Hiroyoshi Tomite (writer), who shared a living space throughout the period of social isolation.

Amidst the challenges of quarantine, marked by feelings of boredom, frustration, and stress, the trio navigated the complexities of coexistence and mutual support. Stranded in a state of near-complete isolation from society, they forged a harmonious bond, transforming quarantine into a catalyst for creative and intellectual exchange.

With limited resources at their disposal, they turned to photography and poetry as tools for self-expression and reflection. Through the lens of their cameras and the strokes of their pens, they sought to uncover beauty in the mundane and rediscover appreciation for the everyday. Amidst this journey, they found solace and inspiration in the presence of flowers, which served as conduits for emotional release and connection to the natural world.

The series "Quarantine Diary 08.04. - 05-05.20" comprises 36 photographs, offering viewers a glimpse into the intimate and transformative journey of self-discovery and resilience during a time of unprecedented challenge.
